Zac Hanson injured in motorcycle accident, band not canceling upcoming shows

The show must go on!

At least that’s what Zac Hanson is telling his fans after he was in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday that left him with three broken ribs, a broken collarbone and a broken shoulder blade.

The drummer, who is part of the band Hanson with his two older brothers Isaac, 38, and Taylor, 36, informed fans of his injury on Saturday evening and confirmed that they would not be canceling any of their upcoming shows.

“On Wednesday I had an accident with my motorcycle while preparing for an upcoming cross-country trip. Although I ended up with three broken ribs, a collarbone and a broken shoulder blade, there is no injury that won’t heal with a little rest, time and a healthy dose of gaming!” Zac, 33, wrote on Instagram and on the website Tape.

“Fortunately, I was able to walk away with good protective equipment, albeit very slowly, with the help of Isaac, Taylor and some Tulsa firefighters,” he added. “We will not cancel any concerts. Instead, I will be handing the drumsticks over to our good friend Dash Hutton @dashdrumdude for the next few weeks and devoting my full attention to singing while my shoulder gets better.”

The musician concluded: “Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers, I hope to see many of you soon! -Z #youcantstopus.”

Zac also made some jokes about his injury on Twitter, showing that he is still in good spirits despite his five broken bones.

“Is it bad that I have to slow down five bones to force myself to spend a little time?” the singer wrote, later adding: “Sorry I scared anyone! I will heal and the shows will go on, even if it was definitely Leopold-style.”

Many fans reacted to the news and sent many well wishes to the father of four.

“I’m glad to hear you’re doing well! Take a well-deserved break, rest and relax,” said one fan responded to his jokes on twitter.

The band’s next performance will be October 25th in Atlantic City, New Jersey. A number of special shows are planned before she begins her 2019 Wintry Mix tour on November 30th.
