Prajwal Revanna Sexual Assault Case: Another rape case has been filed against MP Hassan

‘Fugitive’ Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is accused of multiple cases of sexual abuse, has been charged with rape in another case. This is the second rape case against him. Prajwal was charged with rape in the first case on May 2.

He is said to have flown to Germany on April 27 and is still at large. Interpol has issued a Blue Corner Notice against him.

The fresh FIR was registered on May 5 based on a complaint from a former domestic help in HD Revanna’s household. The video of the woman, who has now filed a rape complaint, is one of the large collection of explicit videos that have been circulating in Hassan since April 23rd.

Police sources said the video in question was “one of the most horrific” of all, with the woman, aged in her 60s, crying and pleading with folded hands to spare her, and that she had served food to his father and grandfather. But the man, allegedly Prajwal Revanna, is seen on video raping her.

Based on her complaint, the police have registered an FIR against Prajwal Revanna and charged him with rape. He was now charged under Sections 376(2)(k) for “being in a position of control or dominance over a woman and raping that woman” and 376(2)(n) for “repeatedly raping the same”. Woman”, 354 (A), 354 (B) and 354 (C) for disrespecting the modesty of woman and taking and distributing images and videos of women performing a private act and 506 for criminal intimidation against the Indian Penal Code .

If convicted in this case, Prajwal will be sentenced to a rigorous imprisonment of at least ten years, which can be extended up to life imprisonment.

The victim recorded his statement before a magistrate under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) on Thursday. SIT has conducted operations at several locations in Hassan and Bengaluru in connection with the Mahazar case, where she was allegedly raped repeatedly.

The victim in the case was allegedly kidnapped on April 29 at the behest of Mr. Revanna to allegedly prevent her from testifying against Prajwal Revanna. She was allegedly kept captive in the farmhouse of a former personal secretary of HD Revanna in Hunsur taluk, Mysuru district. She was rescued by the SIT on May 4. Mr. Revanna has been arrested in the kidnapping case and his bail application will come up for hearing on May 13.

Prajwal Revanna was first charged with rape on May 2, based on a complaint from a political staffer who alleged that the Hassan MP raped her for the first time in 2021 at his official residence in the town of Hassan when she was lying had gone looking for his help for a few students.

She claimed that he threatened to kill her and her husband if she did not cooperate and then not only raped her but also filmed it on his cell phone, which he used to blackmail her from 2021 to April 2024 to repeatedly kill her to rape. The complainant in the case also did this and recorded her statement before a judge in accordance with Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
