Cyclist killed in accident in Milton

MILTON, NY (NEWS10) — A bicyclist was struck and killed near the Saratoga Winery in Milton late Monday night. Officials said Nathan Shreve, 44, of Saratoga Springs, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office officers responded to a car crash on State Route 29 around 11:38 p.m. Monday. Authorities said a 2014 Jeep Compass was traveling eastbound on Route 29 when it struck two bicyclists who were also traveling eastbound on Route 29.

According to officials, one of the bikers, Shreve, died at the scene. The second biker was taken to Saratoga Hospital to be examined for non-life-threatening injuries. The Jeep driver was uninjured.

The cause of the crash is currently being investigated.
