New Orleans police are investigating a shooting that left a woman injured in Mid-City Sunday morning. The shooting occurred at about 2:30 a.m. in the 500 block of South Scott Street. Police say a woman was shot inside a home and was taken by EMS to an area hospital. Witnesses at the scene said the woman did not live in the home and may have been with others at a short-term rental apartment where a party was taking place. The witnesses also reported hearing a lot of gunfire. Damage including broken windows and bullet holes in the siding was noted at two other homes. This story will continue to develop. New Orleans police are investigating a shooting that left a woman injured in Mid-City Sunday morning.

The shooting occurred in the 500 block of South Scott Street around 2:30 a.m.

According to police, a woman was shot in a house and taken by emergency services to a nearby hospital.

Witnesses on site said the woman did not live in the house, but was possibly with others in a rented apartment where a party was being held.

Witnesses also reported hearing a lot of gunfire. Damage such as broken windows and bullet holes in the side walls was noted in two other houses.
