Carthage child dies in boating accident on Table Rock Lake | News

A child from Carthage died in a boating accident on Table Rock Lake on Friday, the Missouri Water Patrol reported.

At 11:11 a.m. Friday, the unidentified boy, a 6-year-old boy, was riding a kneeboard behind a boat in Clevenger Cove, south of Hollister in Taney County.

After the child fell off the board, the boat driver turned around and came back to him. The victim swam towards the boat and was hit by its propeller while reversing, the patrol reported.

The Taney County Deputy Coroner pronounced the child dead. The body was transported to Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home in Branson.

According to the patrol, 31-year-old Bethan Roy was steering the boat.
