No plan to suspend Soludo – APGA

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has downplayed the possibility of Governor Charles Soludo being expelled from the party.

APGA National Chairman Edozie Njoku said other political parties would benefit from Soludo’s suspension from APGA and therefore the party has no such plans.

Speaking to journalists in Lagos, Njoku said: “The current peaceful mood in APGA made this unnecessary for the party. That would have sounded good to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and probably also to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“But if we suspend Soludo today, who will be the beneficiary of this mishap? It will be other parties.”

“There is no party that does not really have a problem. But peace is crucial. We are reconciling and that is not going to be easy. Nigeria is a country where there are so many different views because of adversity. And when there are different views, you recognize that everyone has the right to have their own opinion.”

“As you know, in politics, people have to do politics. Yes, the NWC received the proposal to expel Governor Soludo from the party. But that was not resolved. It was discussed and it came to a point where no agreement could be reached on it.”
