The Military Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident that led to Kadmon’s tragic death.

Mordechai is the son of Rabbi Yitzhak and Michal and the grandson of Miriam and Zvi Samuel, the general director of the Shaalvim educational campus.

“We support the Kadmon family in this difficult hour and ask the Creator of the world to put an end to our grief,” said a statement from the Nof Ayalon community.

Mordechai studied at the Netzer Matai Hesder Yeshiva in the city of Ariel and, after two years of training, enlisted as a combat engineer. He then completed an officer’s course and is due to be discharged from the Israeli military next month.

Mordechai’s rosh yeshiva, Rabbi Tziyon Tawil, said he “studied with great diligence and perseverance and then volunteered with joy and a sense of mission. He always had a smile on his face, wherever he was.”
