Data theft at MediSecure after ransomware attack affects millions of patients

A recent ransomware attack on healthcare company MediSecure stole confidential data from nearly 13 million people, the company confirmed.

Australian prescription drug provider MediSecure fell victim to a ransomware attack in April 2023. A month later, it notified the public of a “cybersecurity incident,” called in external cybersecurity experts, and notified the relevant authorities.
