BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Today’s forecast: Our unsettled weather pattern continues today with showers and thunderstorms likely again. Some early morning showers will increase from late morning to early afternoon.

Highs will be kept below normal by clouds and rain, reaching highs of between 30 and 35 degrees in most areas. Locally heavy rainfall is possible, but rainfall amounts should remain manageable in most areas.

Rest of this week

No major changes are expected in the coming days as good chances of rain remain due to the abundant tropical moisture. If anything, a fresh surge in moisture could increase the chances of rain even further on Tuesday and Wednesday. The chances of locally heavy rainfall will also increase somewhat. Otherwise, clouds and rain will continue to keep temperatures below normal, generally between 30 and 28 degrees Celsius.

Expanded outlook

There are some signs that the chance of rain could drop a little later this week and over the weekend, but I’m still expecting it to be somewhere between 50% and 60%. A slightly lower chance of rain and a little more sunshine should see highs rise back up to just above 35 degrees.
