Minor killed in semi-trailer accident in Sebastian County

HUNTINGTON, Arkansas (KNWA/KFTA) – A minor was killed in an accident involving a tractor-trailer in Sebastian County Saturday afternoon, according to an accident report.

A Freightliner was traveling north on Highway 71 in Huntington at around 2:07 p.m. while a 2012 Nissan Maxima was traveling south.

According to the report, the Nissan crossed the center line and struck the front of the semi-trailer.

The Freightliner left the roadway and came to rest on the right side of the highway, heading northeast. The Nissan spun before coming to a stop in the middle of the roadway.

The minor was listed as the driver of the Nissan, but his age was not mentioned in the report.

At the time of the accident, conditions were clear and dry.
