Anthony Ebizie of Georgia arrested for hit-and-run death of Keithville man

KEITHVILLE, Louisiana (KTAL/KMSS) – A Georgia man was arrested after turning himself in to charges related to a fatal hit-and-run crash Thursday.

According to a press release, Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Jeremy Edward arrested 43-year-old Anthony Ebizie.


According to officials, around midnight Thursday, Caddo Sheriff’s deputies were called to a fatal hit-and-run crash on Highway 789 near Elaine Drive that left James Michael Evans of Keithville dead. Evidence found at the scene indicated that a large truck traveling northbound on Highway 789 swerved into the southbound lane and struck the victim before leaving the scene without reporting the accident.

Shortly thereafter, the victim was struck by another vehicle traveling south on Highway 789. The victim was lying in the southbound lane. The driver of the second vehicle immediately stopped and called 911.

Ebizie was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on a charge of hit-and-run causing serious bodily injury or death.
