Fatal accident in Charlotte County under investigation

CHARLOTTE, Fla. (WWSB) – A 70-year-old man is dead and another is seriously injured after both cars rolled over in an accident on Burnt Stone Road.

According to the accident report, a 41-year-old man was driving in the right lane of Burnt Stone Road, the 70-year-old driver attempted to turn into the left lane and was struck head-on by the first car. The impact caused both vehicles to overturn and the 70-year-old man was ejected from his car and died. The accident occurred at the intersection of Burnt Store Road and Notre Dame Boulevard.

The Florida Highway Patrol is now investigating how fast the first driver was driving.
