Man sexually abuses girl in Morris County town: prosecutor

According to officials, the 32-year-old Tennessee resident in Morris County performed “multiple sexual acts” with a child and faces several charges.



DOVER, NJ – A Tennessee man is charged with aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment after authorities say he sexually assaulted an underage girl in Morris County.

Rony Oviedo-Buezo, 32, is accused of performing “multiple sexual acts” with the child in Dover, the Morris County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.

Authorities charged Oviedo-Buezo with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, one count each of second-degree sexual assault and attempted second-degree aggravated sexual assault, and two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Nashville police arrested him before extraditing him to New Jersey, officials said. He is being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing.

“The incidents remain under investigation and no further information will be released at this time,” officials said.

Prosecutors said several law enforcement agencies were involved in the investigation, including the City of Dover Police Department and the Metro Nashville Police Department.
