Child Rights International condemns “broadcaster” for sexual abuse of minors

Child Rights International Executive Director Bright Appiah has condemned the teacher turned radio presenter who admitted to sexually abusing a minor while teaching.

The Ghana Police Service arrested Nana Poku Piesie, also known as Kwabena Was seen in a viral video in which he admitted to sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl.

Police say the suspect is in custody and assisting Investigations.

“WWe would like to assure the public that the suspect be taken through the proper legal process,the police said in a statement.

In response to developments on the Asaase Breakfast Show On Wednesday (July 18), Appiah said that institutions tasked with addressing such problems must have adequate resources.

“NNo matter how you look at it, there is a standard we have set as a nation when it comes to protecting children, and so we expect everyone’s behavior to be consistent with the standard we have set for ourselves.he said.
