Acting Metropolitan Police officer charged with sexual abuse of two children and rape of an adult

A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with sexually abusing two children and raping an adult.

Jamie Howlett, 33, formerly of Horley, is accused of six counts of sexual assault by touching a child under the age of 13 in connection with two alleged victims, Surrey Police said.

He is also accused of five counts of rape, one count of controlling and coercive behavior, one count of sexual assault by touching, one count of sexual assault by penetration and one count of assault, each against a third adult victim.

Howlett, a serving Metropolitan Police officer assigned to the South Area BCU, is due to appear at Staines Magistrates’ Court on August 9.

PC Howlett was arrested in April 2021 and suspended from duty the following month, the Metropolitan Police said.
