Man injured in car/truck crash in Ely Township

ELY TOWNSHIP, MI – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Marquette County Monday morning.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to US-41 near County Road 478 in Ely Township at approximately 11:25 a.m.

A 17-year-old girl from Marquette was traveling north on County Road 478 when she failed to stop at the intersection with US-41. She struck a semi-trailer driven by a 44-year-old Marquette man. He lost control of the semi-trailer, which overturned.

The tractor-trailer driver was taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Officers were assisted by Ishpeming Township Police, Ishpeming Township Fire/EMS, UPHS EMS, Antilla’s Towing and Crossroads Towing.
