Truck drivers and motorcyclists tell police different stories about the confrontation on East Market Street

Who terrorized whom depends on who you ask about a confrontation between a pickup truck driver and a group of motorcyclists along East Market Street at Warren and Howland.

A man told Warren police that he was driving a pickup truck along East Market Street near Chestnut Street on Saturday evening when about 10 motorcycles stopped in front of him and began to move slowly.

The driver stated that one of the cyclists smashed his side mirror when he honked his truck’s horn to encourage the cyclists to speed up.

The driver said that as he was driving away, the group followed his car to the new traffic light on State Route 82 in Howland, where 10 motorcyclists got off their motorcycles and began driving into his car, breaking the rear window.

The alleged victim said they opened the truck door, pulled him out and started beating him.

One of the motorcyclists interviewed provided the police with additional information.

He claims the driver of the pickup truck drove close to the motorcycles and honked his horn before colliding with several motorcycles, forcing one of them into traffic cones.

The biker told police that the pickup truck drove away after the truck allegedly hit one of the motorcycles.

Howland police are also investigating the incident. 21 News has requested their report.
