Rape investigation launched after woman in her 20s attacked near church

A woman in her twenties is being treated by specially trained officers after a rape investigation was launched in Gerrards Cross.

On Thursday 11 July, at around 10.40pm, a woman was attacked along Oxford Road near St James’ Church in the village.

Following the incident, she is being cared for by members of the Thames Valley Police.

Detective Inspector Dominique Muldoon said: “I am aware that incidents such as this cause concern among the local community. However, we are investigating promptly and our investigations are progressing.”

“The victim is currently being cared for and surveillance has been discontinued.

“I would urge anyone who believes they may have witnessed this incident or has any information that may assist the investigation to call us on 101 or leave a report on our website quoting reference number 43240329920.

“I would also ask anyone who was travelling in the area, particularly on the A40 through Gerrards Cross, to check their dashcams and come forward if they recorded anything that could assist the investigation.”
