Serial Killer: Serial Killer Rapes Victim After Murder, Cops Claim | Chandigarh News

Chandigarh: The serial rapist and murderer has been revealed to be a necrophiliac who allegedly raped his two victims after murdering them first. In the third case too, the accused tried to rape a Mohali woman after murdering her but failed to do so as he was heavily drunk, police alleged. Unlike in two other cases, the forensic experts only found semen from the victim’s clothing and not from her private parts. Police investigation and remand revealed that accused Monu Kumar followed the same modus operandi in all three cases since his first crime in the city in 2010. In the first case, Monu had allegedly hit an MBA student on her head with a heavy stone while she was talking on the phone on July 30, 2010. After her death, Monu allegedly raped her and fled with her mobile phone. In a second incident, the defendant allegedly hit a 40-year-old woman on the head with a stone and stuffed socks into her mouth. When there was no movement, the accused allegedly raped her and fled after leaving the victim’s naked body in Maloya forest on January 10, 2022. In the latest case in February, the accused allegedly took the victim to the forest in Sector 54 and then attacked her with a stone on her head and strangled her. He later tried to rape her but failed. The accused also switched off his phone at 7.27pm before committing the crime, the cops claimed.
