Four family members from Faridkot, Punjab, killed in road accident in Canada

Four members of a family from Faridkot were killed in a collision on Highway 3 in the Canadian province of British Columbia on Wednesday.

The deceased are Sukhwant Singh Brar of Rori Kapura village in Faridkot district, his wife Rajinder Kaur, his daughter Kamal Kaur and his sister-in-law Shinder Kaur.

According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the crash involved three vehicles, a semi-trailer and two cars. The crash, which involved two cars and a semi-trailer, near Becks Road in Keremeos resulted in the closure of Highway 3 for eight hours on Wednesday.

Police said four family members, all in the same vehicle, were found dead at the scene of the “terrible tragedy” which occurred around 11:30 a.m.

The victims were residents of the city of Abbotsford, British Columbia. They were on their way to visit a family friend in the city of Kelowna when the accident occurred.
