8-year-old girl raped, killed and held captive by 3 underage boys in AP

Hyderabad: An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed by three minors in Muchhumarri police area of ​​Pagidyala mandal, Nandyal district.

Based on the confessions of the suspects, the police have launched a search operation in the backwaters of the Krishna River near the pump house of the Muchumarri Irrigation Scheme.

After initial investigations, the police took three underage boys aged 12 to 13 into custody on suspicion.

The boys, who went to the same school as the girl, confessed to the police that they had raped and murdered the girl.

According to the boys’ confession, they discovered the girl playing in Muchumarri Park, approached her and took her to a remote location near the Muchumarri Irrigation Project where they raped her.

Fearing that they would be arrested if the girl reported the rape, the boys killed the girl and threw her body into a nearby canal.

Police have launched an intensive search along the canal to recover the girl’s body, but she has not yet been found.

The water level in the canal is high and the authorities suspect that the body might have been washed away by monsoon rains. The local MP has visited the victim’s family and assured them that the accused will be punished severely.
