72-year-old woman attacked with metal baseball bat in Lenoir County, reward offered for information

We first walked you through the frightening 911 call in which an 18-year-old girl reported that her own mother, JADE SALES, had been shot and had just arrived. CHRIS, THESE COURT RECORDS SHOW THAT A DAVIE COUNTY GRAND JURY HAS CHARGED DENNIS SALES WITH FIRST DEATH. The documents also paint a heartbreaking picture regarding the DAVIE COUNTY mother of four’s murder, witnessed by her daughter. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the store on Pineville Road in Mocksville and found Jade Sales dead. Court documents indicate she had been shot multiple times. The indictment states that Sales’ 18-year-old daughter heard her parents arguing and that she saw her father, Dennis Sales, grab and hit her mother before pulling out a gun and shooting JADE. SEVERAL TIMES. He then drove off in a red Toyota Camry. The daughter and her 1-month-old sister barricaded themselves in a bedroom and the 18-year-old called 911. A dispatcher remained on the phone until deputies arrived the next day. DENNIS SALES WAS ARREST AFTER A HIGH-SPEED CHASE IN KINGSPORT, TENNESSEE. ACCORDING TO KINGSPORT POLICE THEY TRIED TO STOP THE SALE OF HIS TOYOTA CAMRY BUT HE SPOT AWAY. Speeds reached over 100 miles per hour before Sales was forced off the road by police and arrested. And today, Governor Cooper announced he is offering a new reward for information about it. Officers responded to the Grab and Go gas station on MLK Junior Drive around 3 a.m. on January 17, 2017. Officers found Terry Allred there, suffering from a gunshot wound. He later died from his injury. Detectives identified that man, Lorenzo Grady Jr., as his supplier in 2022. Officers located him and arrested him. He was charged with second-degree murder and death by distribution. And on Wednesday he pleaded guilty to death by distribution. A judge sentenced him to a minimum of eight years and four months in prison.
