Community supports owner of Red Gate Farm after tragic accident

This is one of those memories you never want to have because it comes with such heartbreaking, tragic news.

Accident in Rochester, NH

As originally reported by WMUR, police in Rochester, New Hampshire responded to “a serious accident… in the area of Crown Point Road” on Monday, July 8.

Rochester Police themselves agreed with this view and mentioned a road closure due to the accident, but again did not provide any specific details other than the location of the closure.

A report from WMUR subsequently reported the heartbreaking news that the above-mentioned crash was actually a hit-and-run accident that killed New Hampshire Air National Guard Commander Brigadier General John Pogorek.

This brings us to the related matter: Very early on the morning of Tuesday, July 9, a popular local farm in Strafford, New Hampshire turned to the public for help and shared tragic news.

Red Gate Farm, NH

According to a post on Red Gate Farm’s Facebook page, owner Whitney Pogorek said her husband had died and she was now trying to get rid of some of the animals on her farm.

And the special thing about the New Englanders is that they are there when you need help most, or at least give you the right advice.

Whitney’s post, just a few hours later, was full of condolences, love, suggestions on who to contact about her animals, and also offered to help her for free.

I don’t know what kind of animals you have, but as a farm and pet sitter, I offer my services for free if you need help! I am so sorry for your tragic loss! – Keaghan Hecht

Our thoughts, prayers, positive energy and healing vibes are with Whitney and John’s entire families during this tragic, heartbreaking time. And kudos to fellow Granite State and neighboring New Englanders who have selflessly offered their help in any way they can.
