Closures in South Bend, Mishawaka, LaPorte County

There are three traffic alerts in our area that drivers should be aware of as roads are closed for maintenance.

Southern Bend

There are lane closures on US 20 between Ironwood and US 31.

US 20 will have alternating lane closures through the end of November due to two preventative maintenance projects on the bridge deck over Miami St. and York Rd.

INDOT recommends that drivers allow extra time when traveling through this area.

Mishawaka

The Cedar Street Bridge over the St. Joseph River remains closed and will reopen on December 1.

This is the first construction phase.

The project includes a new bridge deck, construction of the Riverwalk trail under the bridge, and improved lighting and railings.

The second construction phase will begin in April and is scheduled to be completed by September next year.

LaPorte County

US 421 is closed between US 30 and State Road 8.

Maintenance teams will carry out sealing work.

The detour runs via US 30, State Road 39 and State Road 8. Through traffic should use the detour or find an alternate route.

The closure will last about three days if the weather is good.
