A Brockton man was arrested on drug trafficking charges when Boston police encountered a car suspected of being involved in an out-of-state armed robbery.

Officers on patrol near Morton Street saw a car with dark tinted windows and a license plate that indicated to police that the car was wanted for an armed robbery in Rhode Island. Police searched the driver, identified as Paulo Barbosa, 23, and found a large plastic bag full of suspected drugs.

The bag contained seven plastic bags of suspected fentanyl weighing a total of 16.6 grams, 22 suspected fentanyl tablets, 53 plastic bags of suspected crack cocaine weighing approximately 41.5 grams and $520, police said. Barbosa was arrested and charged with trafficking in Class A and Class B drugs.

His arraignment is scheduled to take place in Dorchester Court.

Also over the weekend, two firearms were seized by the Boston Police Department’s anti-crime units. The South End District unit arrested 18-year-old Mattapan resident Danielson Jeudy and a 16-year-old boy on weapons possession and warrants on Saturday, officials said.

Officers patrolling near Massachusetts Avenue and Washington Street saw a group of three people crossing the street. One of them had an arrest warrant. Police noticed a man “holding an object in his waistband,” and the man with the warrant ran toward Northampton Street.

After arresting the man with the valid warrant, police saw the man grab his waistband and disappear under a car. They eventually arrested him and found a Keltec P11 with a scratched-off serial number under the car.

The juvenile was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and damaging the serial number of a firearm. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.

Jeudy was arrested on a warrant for illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, shoplifting over $250 and theft of a theft detection device. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.

The unit’s Mattapan District also arrested 37-year-old Dorchester resident Denzel Harper on weapons charges early Sunday morning.

Police said officers were called to a gunshot detection call in the area of 85 Astoria Street just before 3 a.m. Sunday. Officers saw a group of people and focused on Harper, who was turning away from officers.

As police approached him, they noticed the end of a Republic Arms Patriot sticking out of the right pocket of his jean shorts. He was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, and discharging a firearm within 150 yards of a dwelling. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
