Driver arrested for drunk driving after accident in Sacramento, 5 injured

SACRAMENTO – A driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after he and four teens were injured in a crash in Sacramento Saturday night, officials said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle was traveling south on Highway 51, just north of Marconi Avenue, when it struck several water-filled plastic barriers between the highway and the exit ramp.

The vehicle overturned and four teens and the driver, a man in his 30s, were taken to the hospital with minor to serious injuries, the CHP said.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and the accident remains under investigation, officials said.
