Man found dead with gunshot wound in house fire in Lake County

LAKE COUNTY, Florida. – A 49-year-old man with a gunshot wound is dead after being pulled from a burning home in Altoona, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said they went to the home on Wood Duck Road around 1 p.m. after neighbors reported the house was on fire.

According to a press release, firefighters recovered the body of a man from the house during firefighting operations.

Officials said they were currently conducting an investigation into the death after the man’s body was found to have an “obvious gunshot wound.”

According to official information, the investigation is still ongoing.
