Penobscot County officials said a man was “brutally assaulted and robbed” in Hermon on June 23. Three suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.

HERMON, Maine – Arrests have been made in connection with an assault and robbery that left a man seriously injured in Hermon last month.

At approximately 3:45 a.m. on June 23, the Penobscot Regional Communications Center received a report of an injured man on Union Street in Hermon, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Police learned that the male victim suffered “serious injuries” as a result of an attack.

“During the course of the investigation, officers soon learned that the victim had been brutally attacked and robbed by known accomplices,” the press release states. “The victim was taken to the hospital shortly after medical personnel arrived at the scene.”

Shortly thereafter, officers were able to locate one of the suspects’ vehicles at the Holiday Inn on Odlin Road in Bangor. While officers were investigating the vehicle, three of the five suspects were identified and arrested, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division assisted in the investigation and obtained search warrants for two hotel rooms and a vehicle.

“During the search, detectives found several bags of crack cocaine and other evidence,” the press release states.

Deputies said the following people were arrested and taken to the Penobscot County Jail:

  • Tory Kindred, 45, who currently lives in Old Town but is originally from New York, is charged with Class A robbery
  • Thomas Pope, 47, of Sicklerville, New Jersey, is charged with Class A Robbery
