Bothell resident dies in fireworks accident

A Bothell man died in a fireworks accident in a Redmond parking lot Friday morning.

It happened at about 2:30 a.m. in the 11500 block of Avondale Road.

The 45-year-old man was setting off fireworks with his family when he attempted to fire a mortar-like firework from his head. According to KIRO 7, his young children were with him.

When officers arrived, the man was unconscious and not breathing. Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
