Houston Weekend Guide: Latin Restaurant Weeks, Solar Dust, and Be More Pacific Filipino Kitchen and Bar’s Lumpia Eating Contest

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Over the next two weeks, savor all the Latin flavors and more.

Latin Restaurant Weeks have officially begun.

All restaurants offer Cuban cuisine, cafes, Mexican cuisine and much more.

At Post HTX, experience Solar Dust by Quiet Ensemble. This is a cutting-edge immersive laser show that combines light and sound. It premiered in Austria and is making its first appearance in the United States. This pop-up show runs through October.

On Sunday there is a Lumpia eating competition.

Be More Pacific Filipino Kitchen and Bar hosts this annual food competition. The event was born out of a desire to bring people together and promote local small businesses in the Houston area. There are eight competitors, mostly local small businesses. The reigning champion is Seaside Poke, who won last year with a record-breaking 60 lumpias.

The event begins at 3 p.m. Sunday at 506 Yale Street.
