Skowhegan man accused of sexually abusing teenagers

SKOWHEGAN (WGME) – A Skowhegan man is accused of sexually assaulting two teenagers.

According to the Morning Sentinel, 31-year-old Douglas Perkins was arrested last week and charged with five counts of sexual abuse of a minor.

The alleged abuse reportedly occurred between August 2023 and February 2024.

The investigation began after a family member of one of the alleged victims filed a complaint with the police.

According to the Morning Sentinel, the other alleged victim later told a staff member at the Children’s Advocacy Center that she had been sexually abused by Perkins on multiple occasions.

According to the Morning Sentinel, one of the alleged victims told police that she was “paralyzed with fear” during the alleged sexual abuse.

Perkins is being held at the Somerset County Jail in Madison on $5,000 bail.

He must appear in court at the end of August.
