8-year-old boy dies after domestic dispute in Queens, police say

An 8-year-old boy was killed in Queens Thursday night in what police described as a domestic dispute.

According to police, a 29-year-old woman ran out of an apartment building on 94th Avenue in Jamaica around 5:20 p.m. and asked for help after being stabbed in the back.

Officers entered a fifth-floor apartment and found the suspect holding a 43-year-old man in a headlock with a knife to his throat. Police say officers ordered the suspect to drop the weapon at least four times and then fired a shot, hitting him when he refused. The suspect was taken to the hospital.

According to the NYPD, an 8-month-old girl was found unharmed in the apartment. The 43-year-old man, whom police said was the suspect’s father, was also stabbed. Police did not release any information on the condition of the suspect, the man or the woman.
