Discussion:

Strong storms continued this morning, including a severe storm warning in Chesterfield County. Heavy rains and frequent lightning. We have damage reports from Cleveland and Chester counties. I expect more as people get up and try to make their morning commute. There will be further showers after this first wave, however there could be further storms after the 6am to 8am rush hour, but the serious threat will diminish as the morning progresses. If there is heavy clearing in the early afternoon, severe weather may develop again this afternoon. Isolated storms are possible early Friday south of I-85 as the cold front continues to close the area. Today and tomorrow will be cooler with temperatures around 80°. This weekend will be beautiful with high temperatures in the 70s, low humidity and sunshine. Early next week the severe threat returns with another strong disturbance.
