7-year-old boy dies in tragic farm machine accident in Franklin County

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP – A 7-year-old boy died Tuesday in a tragic accident on a farm in Franklin County, Pennsylvania State Police reported.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. on July 2 on a farm near the intersection of Young Road and Mercersburg Road in Montgomery Township. According to authorities, the child was helping with work on the farm when he was struck by a piece of machinery.

He was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. State police from the Chambersburg Barracks responded to the scene after receiving reports of the accident.
