RFK Jr. does not deny allegations of sexual assault and says he did not eat dog meat

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was asked in an interview on the “Breaking Points” podcast on Tuesday about an allegation published by Vanity Fair that he sexually abused his family’s then-23-year-old nanny in 1998, as well as a claim that he ate a grilled hot dog.

Kennedy, 70, dismissed the assault allegation against the show’s host, Saagar Enjeti, as part of his “wild youth” and said the publication was “recycling 30-year-old stories.” “I’ve said this from the beginning: I’m not a church boy,” Kennedy said. “I have so many skeletons in the closet that if they could all vote, I could run for king of the world.”

He was also questioned about a photo he sent to a friend that raised questions about whether he had eaten a grilled dog. Vanity Fair reported that the file’s metadata suggests the image was taken in 2010, but Kennedy texted the image to a friend last year, suggesting he try dog meat during his visit to Korea.

“That’s actually me eating a goat on a whitewater trip in Patagonia many years ago,” Kennedy said. They say they have an expert who identified it as a dog carcass. That’s just not true.”

In the same interview, Kennedy commented on President Joe Biden’s highly publicized performance in the debate against former President Donald Trump on Thursday, saying Biden was “not fit to hold the office,” joining a chorus of calls for Biden to end his 2024 campaign.

Kennedy had initially begun his presidential bid as a Democrat but switched to an independent campaign in October last year. He said he would “certainly consider” running for the nomination at the Democratic convention if that were an option, adding that “the clearest path for me to the White House is through the Democratic Party.”
