Recall Alert: Nissan Frontier – Kelley Blue Book

Nissan has recalled 5,929 2024 model year Frontier pickups because a joint in the steering can come loose, creating the risk of loss of control of the vehicle.

Nissan told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that “the front right lower control arm may have been manufactured with an oversized ball joint.” The joint could go out of alignment. This will not cause the wheel to separate, the company says, but “the drivability of the vehicle could be affected, increasing the risk of an accident.”

Nissan says the problem has not been experienced by any owner to the company’s knowledge. It was discovered during testing at a parts supplier’s factory.

To eliminate the risk, dealers replace the entire right front lower control arm.

The repair is free of charge. According to the law, repairs as part of a recall campaign are always at the expense of the car manufacturer.

Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. They try to reach every owner and ask them to bring the vehicle in for repairs, but they rarely reach everyone. Millions of vehicles on American roads are subject to free repairs as part of the recall. Check the simple VIN tool in our recall center to see if your car is one of these vehicles.
