17-year-old shot dead on the north side of the city, police say

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating after a 17-year-old was shot and killed on the city’s north side early Wednesday morning.

After receiving news of a shooting, officers were called to the 1600 block of Santa Anna Street, near Interstate 10, around 4 a.m.

According to police, a teenager was shot three times and killed. Neighbors said they had previously seen some vehicles circling the neighborhood and then heard gunshots. They went outside and found the victim lying in the middle of the intersection. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police said that there is currently no information about the suspect. A motive for the shooting is also currently unknown.

Both the San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and the San Antonio Emergency Services responded to the emergency call.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, police said.
