One dead after nighttime shooting in Lubbock on July 1

LUBBOCK, Texas – One person is dead after a shooting Monday night in the 2500 block of Cornell Street, Lubbock police said.

Police were initially called to the scene because shots had been fired at 12:44 a.m., the LPD said.

When officers found the victim, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the LPD, this appears to be an isolated case.
