First warning forecast: More heat and storms

Sunday will be another very hot and humid day. Heat advisories are in effect for many areas along and south of I-40. Heat index values ​​in these areas could be between 100 and 105 degrees. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and evening. There is a risk of damaging winds.

After the front that will bring storms on Sunday has left the area overnight, significantly cooler weather is expected for Monday. Plenty of sunshine and highs of between 30 and 35 degrees are expected. Humidity will drop significantly, but this will only be short-lived.

Further periods of rain and storms are expected on Friday and Saturday as a cold front approaches. Each storm can bring damaging winds and very heavy rainfall. Maximum temperatures will be between 35 and 37 degrees.
