Houston County Restaurant Rating, NOT on the Menu (June 17-21) | WDHN

HOUSTON CO, Ala. (WDHN) — Let’s go out to eat, but what about the food? WDHN is reporting the latest round of inspections this week, but this time a Dothan hotel you may have stayed at will have to pass a follow-up inspection.

Click here to view WDHN’s previous report on the Department of Health’s findings.

The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites located at 4090 Ross Clark Circle failed to meet the highest standard (85-100) during its inspection on 06/17/2024 by one point, which means it will need to pass a follow-up inspection in 60 days.

The inspector noted damaged ceilings in the laundry room, mold in the ice machines and water quality issues in the pool.

However, the kitchen at the Holiday Inn Express at the same address scored well at 93 on the same day.

WDHN also has the latest inspection reports for 29 other restaurants, hotels and other establishments in Houston County. All were inspected between June 17 and 21.

The state rates them on a 100-point scale, deducting points for each violation. The overall score determines the reinspection schedule and use of enforcement actions.

85-100 Satisfactory conformities, routine inspection program
70-84 Follow-up inspection required within 60 days
60-69 Follow-up and re-inspection is required within 48 hours
Below 60 Closed immediately
