Arrest warrant issued for Greensboro driver after woman killed in hit-and-run while putting up garage sale signs, police said

GREENSBORO, NC (WGHP) — Greensboro police identified the driver They say he was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian last week at the corner of West Cone Boulevard and Dellwood Drive.

Investigators issued an arrest warrant for 25-year-old Manuel Parada-Sosa of Greensboro on the following charges:


  • Hit and run resulting in serious injury or death
  • Driving with a revoked driving license without affecting the revocation
  • Hit and run, accident, property damage
  • fatal accident caused by vehicle
  • Failure to give way to pedestrians
  • Failure to reduce speed

Investigators believe Parada-Sosa drove away from the area before police found the suspect vehicle. A tip from the community helped police recover the vehicle on Saturday.

The arrest warrant was issued later Saturday and is active in a nationwide database.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on Thursday, Police were called to the area of ​​West Cone Boulevard and Dellwood Drive about a hit-and-run accident.

According to police, a pedestrian was hit at the intersection and died at the scene. The suspect drove away.

The pedestrian, a woman, was hit while putting up signs for garage sales, the family tells FOX8.

Investigators found the suspect vehicle and identified the victim as Gayle Steele, 70, of Greensboro. Steele’s family says the car was found near UNCG.
