MP Sudi suspends activities after his club in Eldoret was vandalised and looted

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has announced the suspension of all his development activities in response to the violence that has broken out in Eldoret and affected public and private properties.

Sudi condemned the vandalism and looting of property in the city, but lamented that the instigators were locals, who he said were among the beneficiaries of this development.

“I will not wish any harm on the perpetrators, because this is a fight against me,” he said.

“This thing was planned by people and since they are from here (at home), I have decided to suspend all planned activities until further notice,” he said in a short video clip shared on his official social media pages.

“I leave it to God now,” he added.

According to the lawmaker, he always believed in helping and supporting the needy in society, not destroying it.

Timber XO, the multi-million dollar club owned by the MP in the city of Eldoret, was vandalised and looted by protesters during the demonstrations.

Some of them were observed stealing alcohol worth several thousand shillings.

The protesters also destroyed glass walls, windows and doors of the building.

The District Court and the Enforcement Offices in Eldoret and vehicles were also set on fire.
