Rowan-Iredell firefighters killed in ATV accident

IREDELL, NC – Two firefighters from the Rowan-Iredell Fire Department died in an ATV accident in West Virginia.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office identified the two firefighters as Daniel Sell and Jacob Steele.

“My boys were walking to school and playing ball with these two young men. Their families are an important part of the West Rowan community. Such a sad situation,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.

No further details about the accident were released.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends,” the city of Cleveland said in a Facebook post. “We pray that everyone finds peace and comfort during this difficult time.”
