Man arrested after wrong-way driving accident in Manchester – NBC Boston

A man was arrested early Saturday morning following a head-on collision in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Manchester police said they dispatched officers after a southbound driver was spotted traveling the wrong way in the northbound lanes of Interstate 293 near the mile marker.

Authorities said a head-on collision occurred two minutes later just over a mile south at mile marker 1.2 on northbound I-293.

Police say 21-year-old James Defeo of Bedford was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless conduct with the use of a deadly weapon and assault with a vehicle. He was not injured in the crash.

Kyle Sariceno, 34, of Manchester, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Defeo is due to appear at Manchester District Court on Monday, June 24.
