23-year-old charged with manslaughter while intoxicated after fatal accident in Arlington | State

ARLINGTON, Texas — A 23-year-old woman has been charged with manslaughter while intoxicated following a fatal crash in Arlington on Sunday evening.

On June 16, 2024 at approximately 7:34 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Browning Drive after receiving reports that a 2018 Dodge Charger had rolled onto its side. The driver, 23-year-old Atlandis Brown, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 21-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the Charger was traveling at a high rate of speed when Brown lost control, left the road and struck a tree and a privacy fence, causing the vehicle to roll over. According to the source, none of the occupants were wearing seat belts at the time.

Based on evidence collected at the scene and subsequent conversations with Brown, investigators believe she was intoxicated. After a medical examination, she will be booked into prison for intoxicated manslaughter. Authorities are also investigating the possibility that Brown may have been involved in a road rage incident shortly before the accident.

The Tarrant County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
