Woman killed after head-on collision in rural Miami County

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (WDAF) – A Wichita woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in rural Miami County on Friday.

The accident was reported shortly before 11:20 a.m. on US 169 Highway between Crescent Hill Road and Bethel Church Road.

The crash investigation revealed that the driver of a red 2013 Mazda 3 was traveling north on US 169 when she attempted to pass a car and a semi-truck and collided head-on with a gray 2016 Chevrolet Equinox.

The driver of the Mazda was pronounced dead at the scene and identified as 36-year-old Natalie Dawn Lober O’Leary of Wichita.

According to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, both the driver and passenger of the Equinox were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
