How Metro DC Police arrested a Northampton man suspected in his mother’s death

Authorities in the District of Columbia have released new details about the arrest of a 49-year-old Northampton man on Sunday. Bucks County police say he killed his 82-year-old mother and then fled the area in her car.

On June 16, just before 1 a.m., Metro DC Police responded to the 600 block of H Street Northeast near the MGM National Harbor Hotel and Casino to assist an officer following a confrontation with William Ingram.

According to a DC police report, Ingram is said to have used a skateboard to smash the passenger and rear windows of a Ford Explorer marked with a police logo.

After breaking the windows, Ingram allegedly grabbed the officer by his vest, but the officer was able to break free and Ingram ran away. He was later stopped by police in the 1200 block of Florida Avenue Northeast and taken into custody.
