Two dead after massive four-vehicle crash on State Highway 33 in Wisconsin

HERMAN, Wis. (WFRV) – Two Wisconsin residents were killed in a tragic four-vehicle crash on State Highway 33 Wednesday afternoon.

According to a press release, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a multi-vehicle crash on State Highway 33 with serious injuries in the town of Herman shortly after 1 p.m.


A preliminary investigation into the crash revealed that a 17-year-old Mayville boy crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck driven by an 84-year-old Hustisford man. The pickup was then struck by a following eastbound vehicle driven by a 71-year-old Shorewood man. A fourth following car sustained minor damage from debris or light impact and was driven by a 43-year-old Kewaskum woman.

Emergency crews assisted in the rescue of the 84-year-old man and his passenger, a 79-year-old woman from Hustisford. Life-saving measures were attempted, but tragically both died at the scene.

The 71-year-old Shorewood man was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 17-year-old Mayville boy and the 43-year-old Kewaskum woman were both evaluated at the scene.

State Highway 33 was completely closed during the response and investigation and is expected to reopen shortly. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the accident.
