Police investigate after body found in vehicle in West Ashley parking lot

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – Charleston Police officers are investigating after a man’s body was found inside a vehicle in a parking lot on Ashley River Road.

Police were called to the post office at 1964 Ashley River Road on Tuesday afternoon because a body had been found there, Sergeant Chris Stinson said.

The Charleston County Coroner is on scene to determine cause and manner of death.

The police said there was no evidence of third-party negligence.

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the man’s name.
