Man charged with assault in domestic incident

According to state police, a 50-year-old Indiana man was taken into custody following a domestic incident on May 29^th in a home in White Township. The victim, a 37-year-old woman from Indiana, suffered visible injuries.

The charges include strangulation by holding the nose and mouth closed, assault and harassment. District Judge Susanne Steffee ordered the defendant to be taken into custody at the Indiana County Jail. Bail was set at $5,000. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 11.^th.
